Cabbage - A Top 10 Superfood
Posted by Wendy
Decidedly unglamorous, and if you’re susceptible it plays havoc with your digestion, but cabbage is well worth getting to love all the same. It contains phytochemical compounds that reduce the risks of several cancers.
Eating it regularly can improve the immune system, purify the blood and see off viruses, while red cabbage contains lots of antioxidants. Cabbage can be appetite-suppressing, and the calorific content is incredibly low. But if you have a slow metabolism, don’t eat it daily, because the brassica family is thyroid-suppressing and your thyroid regulates your metabolic rate.
